FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There is no “magic” to the Snore Circle device. The key to its success is that it uses your natural, built-in ability to stop snoring.

It  simply monitors your breathing and bone vibrations while you sleep.

As soon as it detects that you have started snoring, it emits micro sounds and tiny vibrations which gently alerts your brain to the snoring event.

When your brain receives this signal you subconsciously change your position and clear your airways.

The important point is that it catches your snoring activity early and intervenes gently.

The result is a deeper sleep and less snoring. Simple, but effective.

While you are sleeping, the Snore Circle is dormant and emits no sounds or vibrations until it detects snoring activity. When you start snoring it emits micro sounds (tiny beeps) and vibrates slightly.

It can take about 3 days for new users to adapt to the sounds and vibrations the Snore Circle device emits. During this period, you may notice it slightly and even be woken up occasionally, but you will not be fully awake and will soon return to sleep.

It will be no worse than being woken up by your normal snoring reaction and often much, much better. After a while, you will become accustomed to the noises and vibrations and not even notice them while you sleep.

There are numerous anti-snoring devices on the market including mouthpieces, chin straps, nasal devices, pillows, pills and sprays. Most of these try and fight the snoring process . . . with limited success.

Snore Circle takes a different approach. It recognizes that the relaxation of the throat during sleep and the brain’s ability to adjust our position and breathing during the night are natural processes which serve a very important function – to keep us alive.

Instead of fighting against the process, the Snore Circle mimics the way our brain deals with snoring, but it intervenes earlier and in a more subtle and unobtrusive manner ensuring that we not only stop snoring, but we continue to sleep soundly.

By monitoring our breathing patterns (just like the brain does while we sleep), the Snore Circle acts before the brain is made aware of our breathing difficulties. By emitting micro sounds and tiny vibrations, it stimulates our natural reaction to adjust our position, clear our airways and stop snoring.

Research indicates that although positive results are experienced almost immediately, the more the device is used, the more effective it becomes. Researchers attribute this to an almost Pavlovian effect – we begin to associate the signals from the Snore Circle with the need to clear our airways and adjust our sleeping position.

Over time, this becomes an autonomous reaction which we do without disrupting our sleep patterns resulting in a virtually snore free and uninterrupted night’s sleep.

In a nutshell, Snore Circle works because it taps into our natural, built-in ability to stop snoring rather than trying to fight against it.

Sleep Apnea is a clinical diagnosis which is indicated by a complete closure of the throat during sleep and often requires medical advice and the use of a CPAP machine at night.

Snoring is not a breathing issue. It is the result of a narrowing of the throat during sleep. The loud sounds you hear is basically turbulence caused by the same amount of air you always breathe, being forced through a narrower space.

Snoring is often the result of lifestyle and physiological factors such as nasal congestion, narrow air passages, being out of shape, usage of certain medicines, smoking, excessive drinking and/or poor sleeping positions.

Snoring can be thought of as a lifestyle issue, while Sleep Apnea is a physical condition which often requires medical attention.

The Snore Circle device is not recommended for treating Sleep Apnea.

Snoring is not only frustrating for your partner, but it also has a number of health issues associated with it.

Snoring can cause:

  • Long interruptions of breathing (more than 10 seconds) during sleep caused by partial or total obstruction or blockage of the airway.
  • Frequent waking from sleep, even though you may not realize it.
  • Light sleeping. People with obstructive sleep apnea sleep lightly to try to keep their throat muscles tense enough to maintain airflow.
  • Strain on the heart. Prolonged suffering from obstructive sleep apnea often results in higher blood pressure and may cause enlargement of the heart, with higher risks of heart attack and stroke.
  • Poor night’s sleep. This leads to drowsiness during the day and can interfere with your quality of life.
  • Low oxygen levels in the blood. This can lead to constricted blood vessels in the lungs and eventually pulmonary hypertension.
  • Chronic headaches.
  • Obesity.
  • Daytime sleepiness and fatigue.

Yes. The device can be worn on either ear. Simply rotate the ear piece to ensure that the opening faces into your ear to ensure you hear the micro sounds.

You can sleep on the side which has the device attached to your ear, but some people may feel slight discomfort if they lie on the same side for long periods or have a hard pillow.

It is easy to swap the device to the other ear if this occurs.

Load the Snore Circle on your mobile and ensure that it is synced to the device.

Follow these steps:

It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the battery. When fully charged, the battery can last for 2 nights, but we recommend you charge it every day.

Yes. Just adjust the sensitivity (to low) and the intensity (to high) so that it does not respond to ambient noise in the airplane and the noise and vibrations will be louder when it needs to stop you snoring.

The Snore Circle does no harm to the human body. It is worn only while sleeping and is dormant until it detects snoring activity.

It does not emit any harmful signals and it is made of food grade silicon.
